When Marcelo Pellin came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the CD Delfina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelo Pellin couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lisandro Sorribo in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jaramillo Brochero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. De-Jesús Remon kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. CD Galapagos's Santo Alamo got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lisandro Sorribo in the 14th minute of play forced CD Galapagos's goalkeeper Jaramillo Brochero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in CD Delfina's zone, Zuberoa Guardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. España Basabe came out of the goal and Zuberoa Guardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Santo Alamo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zuberoa Guardo's late challenge caught a CD Delfina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zuberoa Guardo helped the player get up and apologised. España Basabe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santo Alamo in the 30th minute. Santo Alamo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but España Basabe made a huge save. With a little luck, CD Delfina's España Basabe got control of the ball when Santo Alamo tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Lisandro Sorribo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Santo Alamo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of CD Delfina booed when CD Galapagos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aguinaga Varaona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franco Oraa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jaramillo Brochero. CD Galapagos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zuberoa Guardo to make the kick off. Jaramillo Brochero was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lisandro Sorribo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 52 minute of play. If Zuberoa Guardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 59 played minutes, CD Galapagos's Manolo Pujargimon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper España Basabe came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CD Galapagos reached it. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Galapagos's goalkeeper Jaramillo Brochero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcelo Pellins short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Jaramillo Brochero to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. España Basabe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santo Alamo in the 67th minute of the match. España Basabe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santo Alamo in the 80th minute of play. If Lisandro Sorribo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, CD Galapagos's Jaramillo Brochero got control of the ball when Marcelo Pellin tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, CD Galapagos's De-Jesús Remon got a free kick in the 90th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mora Tejero during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mora Tejero hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
