The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to CD Claudina getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Xurde Marina hit a great ball. After having played for 6 minutes, Hector-Luis Viles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balsay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hector-Luis Viles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celso Neira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hector-Luis Viles got free with Marcelino Lape in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to CD Claudina getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Augusto Grijalba hit a great ball. Hector-Luis Viles struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Marcelino Lape didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balsay. Xurde Marina kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Marcelino Lape made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xiao Falco in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Balsay's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Neira came free, but Faustino Miguelez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Balsay's Hector-Luis Viles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcelino Lape made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Xiao Falco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victoro Barajas hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in CD Claudina's zone, Intriago Oblanca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelino Lape came out of the goal and Intriago Oblanca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Faustino Miguelez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yiyo Lobregon in the 39th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xiao Falco to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Xurde Marina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 54 played minutes, Balsay's Intriago Oblanca shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcelino Lape came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Balsay reached it. Unax Sancho hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the game, Xiao Falco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Marcelino Lape was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hector-Luis Viles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelino Lape having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Balsay's Hector-Luis Viles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcelino Lape narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Yiyo Lobregon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustino Miguelez having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Balsay's goalkeeper Faustino Miguelez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yiyo Lobregon. Yiyo Lobregon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Faustino Miguelez made a huge save. 86 minutes in the game, Yiyo Lobregon fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Faustino Miguelez having to interfere. If Hector-Luis Viles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CD Claudina's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
