An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Francisco in the 5th minute of play forced Choyata SC's goalkeeper Pablo Agunaga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th match minute, Paluga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Astete to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute, Xelo Aliceda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Choyata SC's Chiriboga Pellicer got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Paluga's Javier Belorado got control of the ball when Felix Carrete tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Felix Carrete fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Choyata SC's protests and gave Felix Carrete a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Paluga booed when Choyata SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Carrete didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Chiriboga Pellicer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nixon Avalo's late challenge caught a Paluga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nixon Avalo helped the player get up and apologised. Nixon Avalo hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Victor Francisco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Agunaga having to interfere. Paluga's Javier Belorado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Paluga from getting a goal against them. When Victor Francisco came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Paluga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Francisco couldn't finish the play. Pablo Agunaga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victor Francisco's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Victor Francisco made the kick off in the second half. Javier Belorado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chiriboga Pellicer in the 52nd minute of play. Victor Francisco succeeded in the game's 59th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. In the 62nd minute Victor Francisco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Agunaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 64 in the game by Gabriel Fonseca from a close distance when the talented Pablo Agunaga managed to make a qualified save. Choyata SC's players were relieved. Pablo Agunaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Francisco in the 66th minute of play. In the 69th minute Chiriboga Pellicer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Belorado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pablo Agunaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Francisco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 78 minutes, Chiriboga Pellicer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Choyata SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chiriboga Pellicer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Javier Belorado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chiriboga Pellicer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute, Choyata SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Victor Francisco fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Gabriel Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Choyata SC's goalkeeper Pablo Agunaga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabriel Fonseca. Pablo Agunaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Francisco in the 90th minute of play. Enrico Linde kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. After 96 played minutes, Choyata SC's Fabio Brasa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Javier Belorado came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Choyata SC reached it.
