But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xano Villahoz couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Villegas Benero during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Chicticay's zone, Elkin Betancur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelo Arancibia came out of the goal and Elkin Betancur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 18th minute, Xano Villahoz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. James Barcaiztegui was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, Chicticay's goal looked a bit too open when Elkin Betancur came free, but Angelo Arancibia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Chicticay defense, Elkin Betancur kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angelo Arancibia. The Chicticay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angelo Arancibia should have stopped the shot. After having played for 38 minutes, Roman Leniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Daular SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roman Leniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Angelo Arancibia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elkin Betancur in the 41st minute of play. Sanchez Anduiza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Angelo Arancibia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Garcés Viya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elkin Betancur hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Xano Villahoz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The Chicticay fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Daular SC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
