Franco Viña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar Jaurigui having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Villarruel in the 14th minute of play forced CD Masta's goalkeeper Gilmar Jaurigui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franco Viña got free with Gilmar Jaurigui in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristobal Villarruel to make the kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Zhiquir booed when CD Masta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Palazuelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zhiquir's Cristobal Villarruel managed to work through CD Masta's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Cristobal Villarruel dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 89 minutes into the game, Cristobal Villarruel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gilmar Jaurigui was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The CD Masta players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Zhiquir from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
