Chavez SC's Zigor Rafales got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 9th match minute, Shinshun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angel Esqueira to maneuver through the defense. When Venceslao Alderete came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Shinshun fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Venceslao Alderete couldn't finish the play. Vinicio Portera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venceslao Alderete in the 22nd minute of play. Lopez Rosario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan-Pablo Inchausti in the 25th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Edgar Encio put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Vinicio Portera. 40 minutes into the match, Shinshun's Edgar Encio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vinicio Portera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juan-Pablo Inchausti to make the kick off. The supporters of Chavez SC booed when Shinshun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerson Cegama didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner ended in Arnoldo Berraondo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Chavez SC's Vinicio Portera did a great save. In the 93rd minute, Juan-Pablo Inchausti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
