The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Garcia Cecilia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fiallos Orruma struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Bustos Arbulo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UD Malimpia. In the 8th match minute, Eufemia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zabal Bugarin to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Eufemia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of UD Malimpia:s goal. The referee gave UD Malimpia a penalty, 13 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alexander Guiral, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Eufemia's Bustos Arbulo. 0-1. If Garcia Cecilia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bustos Arbulo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fiallos Orruma in the 19th minute of the match. Bustos Arbulo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fiallos Orruma in the 29th minute of play. Polo Bobadilla charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Polo Bobadilla the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Polo Bobadilla kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute of the match Alexander Guiral shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bustos Arbulo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Alexander Guiral fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UD Malimpia's protests and gave Alexander Guiral a yellow card for diving instead. Alexander Guiral kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Oscar Melgosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Calzado having to interfere. UD Malimpia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 44th minute, when Ramiro Albizua scored to the left of an out of position Rodrigo Calzado, making the score, 1-1. In the 48th minute, Oscar Melgosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Rodrigo Calzado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Melgosa in the 54th minute of the match. Eufemia's Oscar Melgosa got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, UD Malimpia's Valerio Hostos got a free kick in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Melgosa in the 62nd minute of play forced UD Malimpia's goalkeeper Rodrigo Calzado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zayvion Morelos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodrigo Calzado having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Eufemia's Ramiro Albizua got a free kick in the 68th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Eufemia's zone, Fiallos Orruma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bustos Arbulo came out of the goal and Fiallos Orruma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eufemia's Bustos Arbulo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garcia Cecilia in the 71st minute of play. Garcia Cecilia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of UD Malimpia booed when Eufemia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vigil Udaeta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 78 minutes, Garcia Cecilia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UD Malimpia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Garcia Cecilia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bustos Arbulo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fiallos Orruma in the 80th minute of play. Garcia Cecilia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Bustos Arbulo made a huge save. Eufemia's Bustos Arbulo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Eufemia from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Eufemia's Bustos Arbulo got control of the ball when Garcia Cecilia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fiallos Orruma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bustos Arbulo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. After 88 played minutes Eufemia got a freekick which was hit by Zorion Cuquejo. The supporters of UD Malimpia booed when Eufemia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vigil Udaeta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute Oscar Melgosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Calzado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 97 minutes, Valerio Hostos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UD Malimpia and the Eufemia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 97 played minutes UD Malimpia got a freekick which was hit by Valerio Hostos. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
