Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ponce Cenal got the match started through his kick off. Zeledon Elejalde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from René Landeribar, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. Miguel Suso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ponce Cenal in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vernaza Caceo saved CD Chantag from getting behind. 13 minutes into the match, Isaias Manzanal notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of CD Chantag's Vernaza Caceo. Vernaza Caceo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, René Landeribar managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Chantag's supporters rose to their feet, but René Landeribar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeledon Elejalde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If René Landeribar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Veracruz's goalkeeper Zeledon Elejalde had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miguel Suso. The audience was convinced that Ponce Cenal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vernaza Caceo was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Zeledon Elejalde didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Miguel Suso went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Ponce Cenal scored 1-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vernaza Caceo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 38th minute, Enrico Galarreta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ponce Cenal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and René Landeribar made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Veracruz's Samuel Mocellar got a free kick in the 52nd minute. If Ponce Cenal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lorenzo Conill could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Vernaza Caceo made a huge save. After 86 played minutes, Veracruz's Pedro Lerdo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vernaza Caceo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Veracruz reached it. In the 88th minute, Lorenzo Conill fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ponce Cenal got free with Vernaza Caceo in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ponce Cenal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Suso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Veracruz players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
