Villafuerte Camudio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 7 minutes, Americo Garabito mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nag SC and the Ambatillo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Nag SC's Americo Garabito got a free kick in the 7th minute. 8 minutes into the match, Nag SC's goal looked a bit too open when Xzavion Herrara came free, but Rolando Vellon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xzavion Herrara in the 11th minute of play forced Nag SC's goalkeeper Rolando Vellon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Seguin kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 18thth minute of the game Villafuerte Camudio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ambatillo FC's Cordero Piñera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Urki Balsera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Rolando Vellon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 23 minutes of play, Ambatillo FC's Manuel Proaño made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Vellon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nag SC's Rolando Vellon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Proaño in the 28th minute of play. Ambatillo FC's Cordero Piñera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ambatillo FC from getting a goal against them. Americo Garabito was shown his second yellow card after 35 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nag SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Urbasa Obeso was slow to take the kick. During this time Ambatillo FC's players had a chance to rest. Urbasa Obeso kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Oso Hinojos's late challenge caught a Ambatillo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oso Hinojos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th minute, Oso Hinojos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rafael Devesa made a kick off. Oso Hinojos was shown his second yellow card after 55 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Oso Hinojos hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Ambatillo FC's Manuel Proaño got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manuel Proaño struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Rolando Vellon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ambatillo FC. Manuel Proaño sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Nag SC's Genaro Fontanes got a free kick in the 68th minute. Villafuerte Camudio's late challenge caught a Ambatillo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xzavion Herrara did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Rolando Vellon 95 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ambatillo FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
