In the 7th minute, UD Corriente's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Segundo Codosal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Justavino Menoyo kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, CD Chinchinales's goal looked a bit too open when Segio Monar came free, but Ricart Barra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, Claudio Tumiraos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ricart Barra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in CD Chinchinales's zone, Segio Monar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricart Barra came out of the goal and Segio Monar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudio Tumiraos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Segio Monar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Ricart Barra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudio Tumiraos to strike the kick off in the second half. Segio Monar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Ricart Barra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. UD Corriente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudio Tumiraos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Segundo Codosal came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the CD Chinchinales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Segundo Codosal couldn't finish the play.
