Segio Monar charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Segio Monar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, UD Corriente's Segio Monar got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Marcelo Isasaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zumar Gorbea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in UD Corriente's zone, Zumar Gorbea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Isasaga came out of the goal and Zumar Gorbea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Segio Monar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the game, Nixon Izaguirre cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Marcelo Isasaga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Segio Monar got his second yellow card in the match during the 26th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Segio Monar kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After 29 played minutes UD Corriente got a freekick which was hit by Ramirez Bebian. UD Corriente's Marcelo Isasaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xalvador Ahijado in the 31st minute of play. Nixon Izaguirre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, UD Corriente's Washington Fontecha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eduardo Contreras narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Claudio Tumiraos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, Segundo Fermoso notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Guarangos FC's Eduardo Contreras. Eduardo Contreras was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Claudio Tumiraos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Zumar Gorbea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelo Isasaga was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

53 minutes into the game, Washington Fontecha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UD Corriente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guarangos FC the free kick. The supporters of Guarangos FC booed when UD Corriente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Washington Fontecha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xalvador Ahijado, 54 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Eduardo Contreras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Tumiraos, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for UD Corriente! In the 66th minute there was a penalty for Guarangos FC. Xalvador Ahijado stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Marcelo Isasaga. 1-4. In the 69th minute, Zumar Gorbea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelo Isasaga was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. Nixon Izaguirre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Isasaga having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in UD Corriente's zone, Nixon Izaguirre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Isasaga came out of the goal and Nixon Izaguirre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 80 minutes of play, UD Corriente's Segundo Fermoso made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eduardo Contreras was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eduardo Contreras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Tumiraos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Zumar Gorbea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarangos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zumar Gorbea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Isasaga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd minute Nixon Izaguirre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Isasaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelo Isasaga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nixon Izaguirre in the 95th minute of the match. The UD Corriente supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Guarangos FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Guarangos FC.
