Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Botadero FC's Elkin Bailey started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 5 minutes, Segio Monar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UD Corriente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Segio Monar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when George Edeon got free with Marcelo Isasaga in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elkin Bailey kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 25th minute of the match Xabier Mezquita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcelo Isasaga showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Segundo Fermoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UD Corriente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Botadero FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, UD Corriente's Segundo Fermoso got a free kick in the 31st minute. Botadero FC's Alonzo Balines played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Segio Monar in the 39th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Elkin Bailey notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of UD Corriente's Marcelo Isasaga. Marcelo Isasaga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudio Tumiraos to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes UD Corriente got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Adurza. With his leg Alonzo Balines managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when UD Corriente's Segio Monar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. George Edeon struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Marcelo Isasaga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botadero FC. The crowd rose to their feet as Claudio Tumiraos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alonzo Balines. That made the score 1-1 in the 62 minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Botadero FC's George Edeon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcelo Isasaga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Tumiraos in the 69th minute of play forced Botadero FC's goalkeeper Alonzo Balines to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. George Edeon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Isasaga having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Botadero FC's goalkeeper Alonzo Balines had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Segio Monar. The audience was convinced that Elkin Bailey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Isasaga was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, George Edeon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botadero FC's supporters rose to their feet, but George Edeon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Isasaga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 92 minutes into the game, Botadero FC's George Edeon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcelo Isasaga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. UD Corriente's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
