The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee showed Hernan Morodo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th match minute, Salati was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernan Morodo to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ataulfo Saavedra in the 32nd minute of play forced UD Huamboya's goalkeeper Hernandez Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ataulfo Saavedra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 44 played minutes UD Huamboya got a freekick which was hit by Weterio Arana. A nice corner shot did that Bone Echandi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hernandez Noboa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ataulfo Saavedra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In a very dangerous position, a player in UD Huamboya fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 53rd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Hernandez Noboa, was totally fooled by Salati's Bone Echandi, who 55 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Hernandez Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ataulfo Saavedra, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Hernandez Noboa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ataulfo Saavedra showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 70 minute of play. In the 75th minute, Rolando Sampedro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76thth minute of the game Flavio Valls who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Salati's Xofre Respaldiza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Valls in the 78th minute of play forced Salati's goalkeeper Xofre Respaldiza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Salati's Xofre Respaldiza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Valls in the 80th minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Ataulfo Saavedra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tenorio Barreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Xofre Respaldiza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, UD Huamboya's Hernandez Noboa got control of the ball when Reasco Tofino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Weterio Arana hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute Salati were awarded a corner. Bone Echandi went to the cornerflag to take it. Reasco Tofino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
