Daniel Dean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferrer Geli in the 10th minute of the match. Ricardo Centeno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Rebustillo's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. UD Samborondon's Ricardo Centeno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murillo Congey in the 18th minute of play. Fernando Rebustillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ferrer Geli in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daniel Dean saved Marcoloma FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferrer Geli in the 33rd minute of play forced Marcoloma FC's goalkeeper Daniel Dean to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Plasencia's late challenge caught a UD Samborondon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Plasencia helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Marcoloma FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. David Plasencia hit a great ball. Ricardo Centeno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murillo Congey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute Murillo Congey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Centeno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferrer Geli might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniel Dean. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ferrer Geli ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Dean was a little too slow when Ferrer Geli got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ferrer Geli was the one to do the kick off. 60 minutes into the match, Marcoloma FC's Fernando Rebustillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardo Centeno narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Ferrer Geli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to UD Samborondon getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Jaime Neli hit a great ball. Daniel Dean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferrer Geli in the 74th minute of play. After 79 played minutes Marcoloma FC got a freekick which was hit by David Plasencia. Daniel Dean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Bellid, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Murillo Congey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ricardo Centeno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The UD Samborondon fans cheered their team off the field, for while Marcoloma FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
