When Cornelio Eguilaz came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Pondoa FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cornelio Eguilaz couldn't finish the play. Texeira Baldonado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17th play minutes Vitor Lasalde shot 1-0, a short shot which went by De-la-Cruz Varaona and just under the crossbar into goal. Cornelio Eguilaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Texeira Baldonado who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of De-la-Cruz Varaona when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rubén Pascua could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but De-la-Cruz Varaona made a huge save. Cornelio Eguilaz struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Yaniusky Cumbres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pondoa FC.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Urbasa Bardeci to strike the kick off in the second half. Félix Lastras hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After 56 played minutes, Galapagos FC's Wilson Cerrajero shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper De-la-Cruz Varaona came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Galapagos FC reached it. If Cornelio Eguilaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yaniusky Cumbres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urbasa Bardeci in the 63rd minute of play. Yaniusky Cumbres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urbasa Bardeci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cornelio Eguilaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Yaniusky Cumbres made a huge save. In the 83rd minute of the match Mario Urigarri shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yaniusky Cumbres showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Galapagos FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Patricio Castro hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Pondoa FC's German Pablo tried to score from far away in the 87th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Félix Lastras fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galapagos FC's protests and gave Félix Lastras a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Galapagos FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Félix Lastras hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Pondoa FC's zone, Vitor Lasalde stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. De-la-Cruz Varaona came out of the goal and Vitor Lasalde tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
