The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristobal Bojarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Xabier Villornate tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Celso Quesada fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arroyo FC's protests and gave Celso Quesada a yellow card for diving instead. Wilmer Cainzos, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Cristobal Bojarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 16 played minutes Malinda got a freekick which was hit by Wilmer Cainzos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramírez Morante in the 30th minute of play forced Arroyo FC's goalkeeper Xabier Villornate to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emilio Coyences during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Arroyo FC. Castillo Esnarriaga stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Juan-Pablo Cavia. 2-0. Arroyo FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Castillo Esnarriaga in the 41st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Malinda's zone, Peter Uceda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan-Pablo Cavia came out of the goal and Peter Uceda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juan-Pablo Cavia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Peter Uceda's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Cruz Villaquiran might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juan-Pablo Cavia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cruz Villaquiran ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Peter Uceda to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Malinda's goal looked a bit too open when Cruz Villaquiran came free, but Juan-Pablo Cavia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Malinda's zone, Cruz Villaquiran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan-Pablo Cavia came out of the goal and Cruz Villaquiran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mauricio Botejara kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Cristobal Bojarte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Xabier Villornate made a huge save. Malinda's Juan-Pablo Cavia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cruz Villaquiran in the 71st minute of play. Juan-Pablo Cavia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cruz Villaquiran in the 73rd minute of the match. Xabier Villornate made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Cristobal Bojarte sent off a good shot on target. If Cristobal Bojarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristobal Bojarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cruz Villaquiran in the 84th minute of play forced Malinda's goalkeeper Juan-Pablo Cavia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cruz Villaquiran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gómez Maya charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gómez Maya the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Peter Uceda might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juan-Pablo Cavia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Peter Uceda ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Arroyo FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Malinda had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
