Armando Sueiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Andia in the 13th minute of the match. Zenaido Andonegui's late challenge caught a Auquichico SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zenaido Andonegui helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Millonarios getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Zenaido Andonegui hit a great ball. Macias Oñez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasco Hurdinosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Macias Oñez, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hector Andia in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armando Sueiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Perlaza Montesino kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Macias Oñez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 27th minute Hector Andia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Sueiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José-Luis Villatreses could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Vasco Hurdinosa made a huge save. Eduardo Horna charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eduardo Horna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eduardo Horna kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Millonarios:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Auquichico SC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Vasco Hurdinosa, was totally fooled by Auquichico SC's Hernan Carrizo, who 45 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Macias Oñez made a kick off. José-Luis Villatreses fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasco Hurdinosa having to interfere. Guillermo Alcega hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. A collision led to Auquichico SC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Obregón Muste hit a great ball. Armando Sueiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Espinola Maestu in the 64th minute. After a rather tough play, Millonarios's Loco Goicoechea got a free kick in the 66th minute. Armando Sueiro made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Espinola Maestu sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Auquichico SC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Sandro Piñero hit a great ball. 74 minutes into the match, Auquichico SC's goalkeeper Armando Sueiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Espinola Maestu. In the 75th minute, Eduardo Horna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Espinola Maestu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 90 played minutes Millonarios got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Horna. 94 minutes into the match, Millonarios's Espinola Maestu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Armando Sueiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
