An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincente Taran in the 5th minute of play forced Mercadillo SC's goalkeeper Valentim Riguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Pinantura's Macías Vinegra got control of the ball when Walter Grolet tried to sneak it across the goal line. Xaime Alemparte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vincente Taran took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valentim Riguez. Valentim Riguez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Vincente Taran made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Walter Grolet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mercadillo SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Walter Grolet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Macías Vinegra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
