The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Guerrón Burriaga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gabriel Baltuile fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jácome Cantera having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, García Sans recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arnoldo Oyardo. García Sans showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. With 26 minutes on the clock, Alonzo Garmendia commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 26th minute of the game. One of Diaz:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cornejo:s goal. 37 minutes into the match, Diaz's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Baltuile came free, but Jácome Cantera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Urtzi Grados to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Diaz got a freekick which was hit by Urtzi Grados. Jácome Cantera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quiñónez Orduña in the 56th minute of the match. When Urtzi Grados came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Diaz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Urtzi Grados couldn't finish the play. After 67 minutes, Azconzábal Ormaechea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Diaz and the Cornejo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Diaz! In the 68th minute there was a penalty for Cornejo. Samaniego Paradelo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jácome Cantera. 1-1. In the 73rd minute, Ambrossi Ariztegui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gabriel Baltuile sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jácome Cantera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quiñónez Orduña in the 77th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urtzi Grados in the 79th minute of play forced Cornejo's goalkeeper Arnoldo Oyardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Urtzi Grados sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quiñónez Orduña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jácome Cantera having to interfere. In the 98th minute, Cornejo's Quiñónez Orduña dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. The Diaz supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cornejo's performance. The match ended with a win for Cornejo.
