Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Raul Dorrego started the match with the kick off. Jose Urquijo scored 1-0 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ramos Zambranos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 11 minutes, Jose Urquijo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malacatos and the Veracruz SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 11 played minutes Malacatos got a freekick which was hit by Jose Urquijo. Veracruz SC's Ramos Zambranos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Veracruz SC from getting a goal against them. When Michael Trujillo fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Veracruz SC's protests and gave Michael Trujillo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Malacatos booed when Veracruz SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Trujillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan-Angel Huera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teofilo Alguea in the 21st minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Veracruz SC's goalkeeper Ramos Zambranos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jose Urquijo. Jose Urquijo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramos Zambranos having to interfere. If Javier Guilarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucio Collante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramos Zambranos having to interfere. Teofilo Alguea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Malacatos's Juan-Angel Huera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Trujillo in the 36th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Javier Guilarte in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan-Angel Huera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Juan-Angel Huera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Guilarte in the 44th minute of play. The Malacatos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Veracruz SC were winning 1-3.
The supporters of Veracruz SC booed when Malacatos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romo Salmanton didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute, Veracruz SC's Teofilo Alguea ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Juan-Angel Huera. Juan-Angel Huera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Juan-Angel Huera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teofilo Alguea in the 59th minute. Ramos Zambranos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Urquijo, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Veracruz SC's Teofilo Alguea got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Teofilo Alguea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Veracruz SC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
