In the 5th minute Jesse De Weijgaert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Obregón Almuzara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Milo Stallings's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but González Juan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. A well-hit corner resulted in Bernardo Opilano heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The referee felt a red card was in order, 12 minutes into the game, when Nils-Åke Boström put in a rough tackle. In the 15th minute August Erserman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but González Juan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Martín Mandrak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Obregón Almuzara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jesse De Weijgaert took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Obregón Almuzara. Obregón Almuzara dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. González Juan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milo Stallings in the 30th minute of play. Mateus Arvelo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Obregón Almuzara having to interfere. Lirian Gacev charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lirian Gacev the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Club Sport Emelec:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Active FC:s goal. Club Sport Emelec:s González Juan showed great skill when he stopped Gonzales Hoz:s penalty. 42 minutes into the match, Club Sport Emelec's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Centenales came free, but González Juan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Active FC's August Erserman got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Obregón Almuzara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Mandrak in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mateus Arvelo was the one to do the kick off. Obregón Almuzara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateus Arvelo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jesse De Weijgaert took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Obregón Almuzara. Obregón Almuzara dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Obregón Almuzara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateus Arvelo in the 59th minute of the match. August Erserman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. González Juan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. August Erserman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Active FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Agustín Inda hit a great ball. Obregón Almuzara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martín Mandrak in the 77th minute of play. Agustín Inda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. González Juan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Opilano in the 84th minute of play. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Sport Emelec's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gonzales Hoz was slow to take the kick. During this time Active FC's players had a chance to rest. Active FC's Agustín Inda quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Eduardo Zambranos, made in the 88th minute of the game.
