In the 28thth minute of the game Borja Camerin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ............'s Roman Masharov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. ............'s Freddy Tartales got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Niels Lindhard's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roman Masharov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Freddy Tartales stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, barcelona de guayaquil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Streich to maneuver through the defense. When Peter Achenbach came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the ............ fans jumped to their feet. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
