In the 24thth minute of the game Santiago Meruendano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Porvenir's Gomez Urrea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Porvenir's Garrido Bolide got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ali Vedat Çelikyay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvo Joa in the 32nd minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Union Y Progreso F.C.'s Olle Melander sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gomez Urrea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Garrido Bolide sped through Union Y Progreso F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ali Vedat Çelikyay. Gomez Urrea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeng Ting Xing, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Santiago Meruendano to make the kick off.
