An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Pedriza in the 21st minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Eguntsenti Morillas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Altobonito booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baiarte Abos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Polo Ortubia was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 35 minutes had been played. 38 minutes into the game, Cleto Viego was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Altobonito the free kick. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Cleto Viego got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 43rd minute, Gonzo Azpe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Boni Ondategui was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The Altobonito players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 0-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frisco Garza was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes Mexico's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rogelio Calonge who took care of the corner kick. Bilintx Caldera's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Boni Ondategui firmly grabbed it by the left post. Rogelio Calonge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frisco Garza might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eguntsenti Morillas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frisco Garza ran back to his position shaking his head. After 68 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Baiarte Abos. In the 72nd minute, Frisco Garza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eguntsenti Morillas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Frisco Garza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eguntsenti Morillas came out of the goal and Frisco Garza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 77th minute, Nicolae Cârstea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Bilintx Caldera slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Boni Ondategui. That made the score 1-2 after 85 minutes of play. If Bilintx Caldera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
