One of Lanapa FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Matraca FC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Orlin Peruyera, was totally fooled by Matraca FC's Batista Carasa, who 9 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 12 minutes, Nalo Toria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lanapa FC and the Matraca FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 12 played minutes Lanapa FC got a freekick which was hit by Nalo Toria. A collision led to Lanapa FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Nalo Toria hit a great ball. After 21 played minutes Lanapa FC got a freekick which was hit by Nalo Toria. When Nalo Toria was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 23 minutes had been played. After having played for 39 minutes, Eliu Busto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lanapa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliu Busto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Lanapa FC's zone, Chorache Santillan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orlin Peruyera came out of the goal and Chorache Santillan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Chorache Santillan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chorache Santillan was the one to do the kick off.
