The supporters of Cali FC booed when Vagones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lluc Reboyras didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pacorro Enterria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xepe Ayensa in the 4th minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Cali FC's goal looked a bit too open when Palos Subijana came free, but Quirze Garnelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 7 played minutes Cali FC got a freekick which was hit by Buinton Betanzos. Pacorro Enterria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aimar Selgas in the 9th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Aimar Selgas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th match minute, Vagones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lluc Reboyras to maneuver through the defense. Vagones's Artaldo Benitua got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the game, Palos Subijana recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Quirze Garnelo. Palos Subijana showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 23rd match minute, Cali FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beat Tarriba to maneuver through the defense. Artaldo Benitua who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Quirze Garnelo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 29th minute, Lluc Reboyras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Cali FC's Ysidro Legorburu tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Xepe Ayensa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Pacorro Enterria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iruinea Barcia hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Cali FC's Quirze Garnelo got control of the ball when Artaldo Benitua tried to sneak it across the goal line. Artaldo Benitua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quirze Garnelo having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Artaldo Benitua left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vagones fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Palos Subijana to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Gergori Oberto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aimar Selgas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xepe Ayensa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pacorro Enterria having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Vagones's zone, Xepe Ayensa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pacorro Enterria came out of the goal and Xepe Ayensa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 63 minutes, Artaldo Benitua managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vagones's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artaldo Benitua was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Quirze Garnelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artaldo Benitua, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. When Artaldo Benitua came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Vagones fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artaldo Benitua couldn't finish the play. When Vagones's Palos Subijana, in the 71st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Vagones. Artaldo Benitua scored 3-0 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Quirze Garnelo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Quirze Garnelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Palos Subijana in the 78th minute of play. Artaldo Benitua blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Quirze Garnelo having to make a save. If Xepe Ayensa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 85 minutes, Artaldo Benitua managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cali FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
