The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Juan Orive fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Montez Prado having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Fernandez Toral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Montez Prado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Orive's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Chontadural's goalkeeper Damario Norato had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabio Haedo. Damario Norato made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Fabio Haedo sent off a good shot on target. Herensuge Bachiller hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Bermejo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Montez Prado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Fabio Haedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 35 minutes, Juan Orive managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chontadural's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Orive was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lordi Vozmediano charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lordi Vozmediano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th minute, Lordi Vozmediano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juan Orive was the one to do the kick off. When Osvaldo Bermejo came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Chontadural fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Bermejo couldn't finish the play. If Lordi Vozmediano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Damario Norato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Haedo in the 57th minute of the match.
