The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Remigio Pablo lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Anselmo Barbon. Fabio Cardona charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabio Cardona the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Leizarraga Cerecedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remigio Pablo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Barbon having to interfere. The Cumbal fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Cumbal's Leizarraga Cerecedo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Roque Morcillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benigno Matheu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabio Cardona in the 26th minute of play forced Cumbal's goalkeeper Benigno Matheu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lluterio Peñuelas might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benigno Matheu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lluterio Peñuelas ran back to his position shaking his head. 37 minutes into the match, Carracas's goalkeeper Anselmo Barbon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leizarraga Cerecedo. 38 minutes into the match, Carracas's goal looked a bit too open when Remigio Pablo came free, but Anselmo Barbon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute Lluterio Peñuelas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benigno Matheu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Carracas's zone, Leizarraga Cerecedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Barbon came out of the goal and Leizarraga Cerecedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
The wind increased when Lluterio Peñuelas made the kick off in the second half. Remigio Pablo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 3-0 became the score in the 59th minute when Remigio Pablo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Cumbal's goal looked a bit too open when Lluterio Peñuelas came free, but Benigno Matheu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Lluterio Peñuelas fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Benigno Matheu, passed just outside the right post. Remigio Pablo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Galo Farre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leizarraga Cerecedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Anselmo Barbon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leizarraga Cerecedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carracas's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
