Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Matesanto's Maurino Belaunde started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Chepe Babia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Viinikainen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Txartiko Ruperto kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Gutierre Cantero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Txartiko Ruperto in the 11th minute. A collision led to La Junior getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Gaitano Cebollero hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Matesanto defense, Daniel Viinikainen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chepe Babia. The Matesanto fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chepe Babia should have stopped the shot. Chepe Babia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Viinikainen went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the La Junior defense, Txartiko Ruperto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gutierre Cantero. The La Junior fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gutierre Cantero should have stopped the shot. After 30 minutes, Daniel Viinikainen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Junior and the Matesanto players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes La Junior got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Viinikainen. Gaitano Cebollero hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Viinikainen in the 39th minute of play forced Matesanto's goalkeeper Chepe Babia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Leopoldo Redondo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chepe Babia having to interfere. If Elvio Llano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matesanto's Chepe Babia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Intxixu Moracia in the 63rd minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Matesanto's goalkeeper Chepe Babia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Viinikainen. Chepe Babia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Intxixu Moracia, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. With his leg Chepe Babia managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when La Junior's Daniel Viinikainen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Reno Zarandona during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Matesanto getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Reno Zarandona hit a great ball. Matesanto's Chepe Babia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Matesanto from getting a goal against them.
