After a defensive mix-up in Chiyaguan's zone, Jordi Hermosilla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sansone Romai came out of the goal and Jordi Hermosilla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chago Pulido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Amsterdam FC's Urti Moneda got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Chiyaguan's Sansone Romai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jordi Hermosilla in the 28th minute of play. Sansone Romai didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jordi Hermosilla went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Chiyaguan booed when Amsterdam FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillelmo Cuartas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st match minute, Amsterdam FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genaro Lima to maneuver through the defense. Patxi Brasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sansone Romai having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The Chiyaguan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sansone Romai should have stopped the shot. If Baristo Valdueza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute.
