In the 4th minute, AMERICA DE CALI's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Domenec Yecora fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Virginias's Ferdinand Odon got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Domenec Yecora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Severo Carbajal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferdinand Odon got free with Severo Carbajal in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 18 minutes into the match, AMERICA DE CALI's goalkeeper Severo Carbajal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferdinand Odon. Domenec Yecora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severo Carbajal having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, AMERICA DE CALI's goal looked a bit too open when Niguel Hualde came free, but Severo Carbajal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 24 played minutes AMERICA DE CALI got a freekick which was hit by Sagrario Mariña. Domenec Yecora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Virginias's Ferdinand Odon got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Severo Carbajal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domenec Yecora, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Domenec Yecora to make the kick off. The supporters of Virginias booed when AMERICA DE CALI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ursino Casasola didn't get a good kick on the ball. Severo Carbajal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domenec Yecora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Ferdinand Odon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Virginias's supporters rose to their feet, but Ferdinand Odon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severo Carbajal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd minute Ferdinand Odon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Carbajal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Paulino Aostri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Domenec Yecora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the game, Virginias's Domenec Yecora nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Severo Carbajal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. A collision led to Virginias getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Joanes Indo hit a great ball. Virginias's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
