The audience was convinced that Gelmiro Bullon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Venceslas Azcarate was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Iturriz got free with Venceslas Azcarate in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 22nd match minute, Avimi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dantae Colombres to maneuver through the defense. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Avimi FC's Bitxintxo Piedrahita got a free kick in the 31st minute. Venceslas Azcarate made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gelmiro Bullon in the 35th minute of play. Licerio Albo kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Gelmiro Bullon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Venceslas Azcarate tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adalberto Caloca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Goyo Dacorrega having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Millonarios FC's Venceslas Azcarate played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gelmiro Bullon in the 51st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Adalberto Caloca took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Goyo Dacorrega to make any attempt to save it. Filipe Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Dantae Colombres took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Venceslas Azcarate. Millonarios FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Millonarios FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Hats Garcidueñas hit a great ball. Montae Galnares charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After having played for 66 minutes, Flavio Osorio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Millonarios FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavio Osorio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adalberto Caloca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Goyo Dacorrega made a huge save. The supporters of Avimi FC booed when Millonarios FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Osorio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Avimi FC's Dantae Colombres couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 71st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Millonarios FC. Venceslas Azcarate took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Iturriz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Millonarios FC booed when Avimi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bitxintxo Piedrahita didn't get a good kick on the ball.
