With his leg Lohitzun Baiges managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Barranquilla Sport's Fonda Cardigondi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Fonda Cardigondi sped through Club Deportivo Municipal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lohitzun Baiges. The supporters of Club Deportivo Municipal booed when Barranquilla Sport was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermengildo Albear didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roberto Somellero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tirso Garoña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lohitzun Baiges having to interfere. Lohitzun Baiges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tirso Garoña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute of the match Barranquilla Sport got a corner. Club Deportivo Municipal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Karmel Armijo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Fonda Cardigondi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Lohitzun Baiges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fonda Cardigondi took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lohitzun Baiges. Lohitzun Baiges dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 31st match minute, Club Deportivo Municipal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iker Cantero to maneuver through the defense. Lohitzun Baiges made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Fonda Cardigondi sent off a good shot on target. In the 38th minute, Club Deportivo Municipal's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Fonda Cardigondi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Tirso Garoña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lohitzun Baiges having to interfere. Ongile Fernandes charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ongile Fernandes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th minute, Ongile Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 49 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Municipal's goalkeeper Lohitzun Baiges had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fonda Cardigondi.

The wind increased when Tirso Garoña made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Municipal's goal looked a bit too open when Tirso Garoña came free, but Lohitzun Baiges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barranquilla Sport's Iratze Munguia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Opilano Congey in the 98th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
