Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Izel Corredera kicked off to start the match. Oswaldo Barrena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Eusebio Atienza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Urumbi's goal looked a bit too open when Hitz Bracero came free, but Eusebio Atienza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute, Natal Taramona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eusebio Atienza was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Izel Corredera struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Brion Zubizarrieta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Urumbi. After having played for 32 minutes, Terciero Valladares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Urumbi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Terciero Valladares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Araca's goalkeeper Brion Zubizarrieta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mano Serrana hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Hitz Bracero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Atienza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Natal Taramona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 44 played minutes Urumbi got a freekick which was hit by Reno Gochicoa.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hitz Bracero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brion Zubizarrieta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Izel Corredera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Araca getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Oswaldo Barrena hit a great ball. Brion Zubizarrieta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Terciero Valladares's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. If Natal Taramona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Urumbi getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Reno Gochicoa hit a great ball. Atarratze Cespedes hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. When Hitz Bracero got free in front of the goal in the 69th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Eusebio Atienza was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The supporters of Urumbi booed when Araca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mano Serrana didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute Hitz Bracero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Atienza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hitz Bracero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusebio Atienza having to interfere. Hitz Bracero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eusebio Atienza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. When Izel Corredera came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Urumbi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Izel Corredera couldn't finish the play. Reno Gochicoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brion Zubizarrieta having to interfere. Brion Zubizarrieta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Izel Corredera, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
