The supporters of Medellin booed when Taminanquito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ysmael Zuñiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Buinton Grajal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ponciano Bodegas in the 6th minute of play. Ralondo Arripe kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Lourenco Bautista kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Taminanquito's zone, Ponciano Bodegas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Buinton Grajal came out of the goal and Ponciano Bodegas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Taminanquito's Buinton Grajal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cruz Martino in the 21st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xefe Megia during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 22 minutes into the match, Taminanquito's goal looked a bit too open when Cruz Martino came free, but Buinton Grajal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Cruz Martino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elija Castaneda charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elija Castaneda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th minute, Elija Castaneda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th match minute, Taminanquito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xefe Megia to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the game, Medellin's Elija Castaneda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Buinton Grajal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A collision led to Medellin getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Cruz Martino hit a great ball. Cruz Martino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buinton Grajal having to interfere. After 48 played minutes Taminanquito got a freekick which was hit by Paio Ruiz. 48 minutes into the match, Medellin's Juango Isazi broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cruz Martino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cruz Martino in the 53rd minute of play forced Taminanquito's goalkeeper Buinton Grajal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Medellin's Cruz Martino in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Taminanquito's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Taminanquito getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Xandro Larrinzar hit a great ball. If Cruz Martino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Taminanquito defense, Ponciano Bodegas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Buinton Grajal. The Taminanquito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Buinton Grajal should have stopped the shot. In the 63rd match minute, Taminanquito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Obeko Chavarri to maneuver through the defense. When Cruz Martino fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Medellin's protests and gave Cruz Martino a yellow card for diving instead. In the 64th minute, Cruz Martino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Buinton Grajal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cruz Martino in the 73rd minute of play. If Cruz Martino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th match minute, Taminanquito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xandro Larrinzar to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, Cruz Martino fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ponciano Bodegas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Cruz Martino came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Medellin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cruz Martino couldn't finish the play. Buinton Grajal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cruz Martino's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. A collision led to Medellin getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Elija Castaneda hit a great ball. Ponciano Bodegas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Taminanquito fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Medellin were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
