Chorche Teberga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gar Gallardo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tristan Capistrano went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of los chavalos booed when Santa fe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Solloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santa fe's Petri Laincera pulled a muscle in his back after 35 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Fernando Cimbron fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored los chavalos's protests and gave Fernando Cimbron a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th match minute, los chavalos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Cimbron to maneuver through the defense. los chavalos's Chorche Teberga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melquiades Valdaliso in the 37th minute of play. If Luis Solloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gar Gallardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benet Carrete, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luis Solloso to make the kick off. Pablo Gou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute, Benet Carrete got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 63 minutes, Fernando Cimbron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. los chavalos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernando Cimbron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, los chavalos's goalkeeper Chorche Teberga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luis Solloso. Gar Gallardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Cimbron, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. When the match was over Santa fe could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than los chavalos throughout the match.
