With his leg Martin Cuezba managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Caquetal FC's Rogelio Arrate fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A hard shot 12 in the game by Rogelio Arrate from a close distance when the talented Martin Cuezba managed to make a qualified save. Vijes's players were relieved. Pitin Eleizalde's late challenge caught a Vijes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pitin Eleizalde helped the player get up and apologised. Pitin Eleizalde hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, Justo Ballestero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Caquetal FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Gentza Cervantes hit a great ball. 20 minutes into the match, Caquetal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Justo Ballestero came free, but Tulio Pola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Justo Ballestero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vijes's supporters rose to their feet, but Justo Ballestero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tulio Pola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernardo Oliver blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tulio Pola having to make a save. Vijes's Bernardo Oliver got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Bernardo Oliver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 37 played minutes, Vijes's Demetrio Alcazar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tulio Pola came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vijes reached it. Rogelio Arrate fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Cuezba having to interfere. Pitin Eleizalde blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martin Cuezba having to make a save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernardo Oliver was the one to do the kick off. If Martinez Camus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Bernardo Oliver managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vijes's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardo Oliver was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tulio Pola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pitin Eleizalde was shown his second yellow card after 57 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Vijes booed when Caquetal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pitin Eleizalde didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 59 minutes, Tulio Pola successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Rolando Abendaño charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rolando Abendaño the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 76 minutes into the game, one of Caquetal FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Caquetal FC:s Tulio Pola showed great skill when he stopped Adan Gauna:s penalty. Tulio Pola came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Vijes's Adan Gauna. But to his dismay, Adan Gauna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Vijes's zone, Julian Esterina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Cuezba came out of the goal and Julian Esterina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rogelio Arrate received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Martin Cuezba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 97 minutes, Rogelio Arrate managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caquetal FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogelio Arrate was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
