Bembe Villafana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luzea Cotilla in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Wilfredo Urtado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Faro Miras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Chesus Fontano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Corderro Banzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bembe Villafana having to interfere. If Luzea Cotilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Espinal's Bembe Villafana got control of the ball when Luzea Cotilla tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Sutatausa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilfredo Urtado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Sutatausa's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
