Formerio Taracena's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frutos Temes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. After 14 played minutes Carrero FC got a freekick which was hit by Jerico Valles. Matamoros's Vennancio Barrera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lain Novoa in the 21st minute of play. Bidun Leniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Formerio Taracena struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Frutos Temes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matamoros. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bidun Leniz in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vennancio Barrera saved Matamoros from getting behind. In the 32nd minute Carlos Cueva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frutos Temes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 36 played minutes Matamoros got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Cueva. Vennancio Barrera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lain Novoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Lain Novoa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bidun Leniz to make the kick off. Frutos Temes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Cueva, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 54 minutes of play, Matamoros's Formerio Taracena made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frutos Temes was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Matamoros getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Anselmo Trespuentes hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute of the match Breogan Vivaldo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vennancio Barrera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Gervaso Can hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. The supporters of Carrero FC booed when Matamoros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ladio Baranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute Bidun Leniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vennancio Barrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anselmo Trespuentes kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Jerico Ballina's late challenge caught a Carrero FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Jerico Ballina hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Carrero FC's zone, Formerio Taracena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frutos Temes came out of the goal and Formerio Taracena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Cueva in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frutos Temes saved Carrero FC from getting behind. Matamoros's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
