Fonso Roque's late challenge caught a Washington FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fonso Roque helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th minute, Fonso Roque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 66th minute, when Washington FC's Nardo Domene after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Pasqual Zunzunegui in Tunquiza FC's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. 71 minutes into the match, Washington FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ponciano Casanueva came free, but Montez Galvez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Montez Galvez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Licerio Oliva went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Oxel Ojero's late challenge caught a Tunquiza FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oxel Ojero helped the player get up and apologised. Oxel Ojero hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. If Licerio Oliva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pasqual Zunzunegui took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nastasio Casas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Licerio Oliva came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Tunquiza FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Licerio Oliva couldn't finish the play. Washington FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
