The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Misael Basterra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santelena FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Misael Basterra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haroldo Paniagua breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mergildo Jimenez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Argider Santandres in the 9th minute of the match. Tiago Bedes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Mergildo Jimenez made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Argider Santandres in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mergildo Jimenez saved Santelena FC from getting behind. Tiago Bedes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Mergildo Jimenez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 16 minutes, Argider Santandres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Causarijuna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Argider Santandres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Lia Liendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiago Bedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mergildo Jimenez having to interfere. The supporters of Causarijuna booed when Santelena FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tolino Santotis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25thth minute of the game Argider Santandres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santelena FC's Mergildo Jimenez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Argider Santandres was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 26th minute. Causarijuna's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Tolino Santotis fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santelena FC's protests and gave Tolino Santotis a yellow card for diving instead. Tolino Santotis hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Tiago Bedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Mergildo Jimenez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
