Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Monterrey FC's Sergi Solier started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Monterrey FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rozarius Andres to maneuver through the defense. Serrajones's Felipo Villegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergi Solier in the 11th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eate Juarrero got free with Vachon Abeita in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st match minute, Monterrey FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rexino Borjas to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Serrajones getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Eguntsenti Estremiana hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute, Serrajones's Eate Juarrero ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vachon Abeita. Vachon Abeita yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The supporters of Serrajones booed when Monterrey FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xose Huemen didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Monterrey FC's Sergi Solier in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Serrajones's goalie prevented a goal. Xose Huemen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serrajones's Eate Juarrero got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
The wind increased when Quinten Viladrosa made the kick off in the second half. Quinten Viladrosa struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Vachon Abeita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Serrajones. In the 53rd minute, Adalberto Miñon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Saverio Botas's late challenge caught a Monterrey FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saverio Botas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th match minute, Serrajones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Botas to maneuver through the defense. Sergi Solier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Felipo Villegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Xose Huemen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felipo Villegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergi Solier in the 69th minute of play. After having played for 71 minutes, Eate Juarrero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Serrajones's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eate Juarrero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Quinten Viladrosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vachon Abeita. Monterrey FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Quinten Viladrosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Xose Huemen came free with the goalkeeper in the 81st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Felipo Villegas could save by the left post. Serrajones's Eate Juarrero got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 86 minutes into the match, Monterrey FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eate Juarrero came free, but Vachon Abeita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xose Huemen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sergi Solier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felipo Villegas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Monterrey FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
