An unexpectedly hard shot by Todor Villarias in the 17th minute of play forced DEPORTIVO LARA's goalkeeper Leandro Llain to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcial Trabeso's late challenge caught a Saladero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcial Trabeso helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 played minutes DEPORTIVO LARA got a freekick which was hit by Marcial Trabeso. If Flavio Usategui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Joel Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pietro Bono having to interfere. Pietro Bono showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Moreno in the 43rd minute of the match. Marcial Trabeso might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pietro Bono. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcial Trabeso ran back to his position shaking his head. Belasko Lalatu charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Belasko Lalatu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th match minute, Saladero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Belasko Lalatu to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

51 minutes into the game, Todor Villarias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Leandro Llain was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With his leg Pietro Bono managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when DEPORTIVO LARA's Joel Moreno fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Joel Moreno put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Pietro Bono. After 62 played minutes Saladero got a freekick which was hit by Godofredo Costeras. If Flavio Usategui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute Todor Villarias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro Llain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 70 minutes on the clock, Bizen Foyo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Leandro Llain had in the 72ndth minute some difficulties stopping David Toraya's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When the match was over DEPORTIVO LARA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Saladero throughout the match.
