Anzoategui's Maurilio Felix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heriberto Piciña in the 5th minute of play. Maurilio Felix didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 6th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. In the 11th minute Santo Golmayo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chago Arceo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Carapita FC defense, Raymundo Trelles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chago Arceo. The Carapita FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chago Arceo should have stopped the shot. Maurilio Felix made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maiorga Rubires in the 24th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Gelacio Chavarria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dep. Anzoategui's supporters rose to their feet, but Gelacio Chavarria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chago Arceo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 30 minutes into the match, Maiorga Rubires had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurilio Felix. Dep. Anzoategui's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maiorga Rubires was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 39 minutes into the match, Carapita FC's goal looked a bit too open when Raymundo Trelles came free, but Chago Arceo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Carapita FC defense, Raymundo Trelles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chago Arceo. The Carapita FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chago Arceo should have stopped the shot. Chago Arceo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santo Golmayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raymundo Trelles to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 58th minute by Raymundo Trelles got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Santo Golmayo might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chago Arceo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Santo Golmayo ran back to his position shaking his head. Raymundo Trelles let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 62nd minute shot 2-3 at rihgt post. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carapita FC's goalkeeper Chago Arceo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 67 played minutes Carapita FC got a freekick which was hit by Xaver Castorena. With a little luck, Carapita FC's Chago Arceo got control of the ball when Raymundo Trelles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chago Arceo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gelacio Chavarria, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Raymundo Trelles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Chago Arceo made a huge save. Fidensio Raimundo charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fidensio Raimundo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 82 played minutes Dep. Anzoategui got a freekick which was hit by Fidensio Raimundo. In the 84th play minute Raymundo Trelles came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Chago Arceo. 2-4. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carapita FC's goalkeeper Chago Arceo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Raymundo Trelles came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Dep. Anzoategui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raymundo Trelles couldn't finish the play. Dep. Anzoategui's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
