An unexpectedly hard shot by Marques Vilas in the 3rd minute of play forced Morichibi's goalkeeper Cristo Vivanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 7 played minutes Manganeso got a freekick which was hit by Baleren Mercadillo. Baleren Mercadillo hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Manganeso's zone, Santi Velarde stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iturri Aristegui came out of the goal and Santi Velarde tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lia Eguiluz might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristo Vivanco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lia Eguiluz ran back to his position shaking his head. If Marques Vilas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 22 minutes, Bastian Fauria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Morichibi and the Manganeso players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Manganeso supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Manganeso would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
