The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marcelino Cuyar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Jusino in the 26th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Pampanito's German Jusino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcelino Cuyar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Marcelino Cuyar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Jusino in the 33rd minute of play. Emanuel Erazo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mark Arejola in the 37th minute. A collision led to Pampanito getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Gillermo Reyo hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergio Becerro in the 39th minute of play forced Pampanito's goalkeeper Emanuel Erazo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Pampanito were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergio Becerro couldn't finish the play. Marcelino Cuyar didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 86th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3.
