If Piarres Machicao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 10 played minutes Versalles FC got a freekick which was hit by Cebrian Vega. Copaya's Joaquin Alejandro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piarres Machicao in the 16th minute of play. Piarres Machicao fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Alejandro having to interfere. Pacho Botbol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Lertxun Nestares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Salomone Cubria fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Versalles FC's protests and gave Salomone Cubria a yellow card for diving instead. If Pacho Botbol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd match minute, Copaya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Odol Cistero to maneuver through the defense. If Gogo Pedrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquin Alejandro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gogo Pedrera in the 37th minute of the match. After 38 played minutes Copaya got a freekick which was hit by Odol Cistero. Chucho Villafuentes's late challenge caught a Versalles FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chucho Villafuentes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th minute, Chucho Villafuentes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Gogo Pedrera made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Copaya's goal looked a bit too open when Gogo Pedrera came free, but Joaquin Alejandro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Versalles FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pacho Botbol came free, but Lertxun Nestares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chucho Villafuentes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 72 minutes, Piarres Machicao managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Versalles FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Piarres Machicao was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gogo Pedrera in the 77th minute of play forced Copaya's goalkeeper Joaquin Alejandro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the game, one of Versalles FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Tauro Pedroza shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After 85 played minutes Copaya got a freekick which was hit by Nazario Afonso. Amancio Carretero was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 86th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Cebrian Vega fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Lertxun Nestares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pacho Botbol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 97th minute Chucho Villafuentes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lertxun Nestares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute, Chucho Villafuentes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Copaya fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Versalles FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
