But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiburcio Candina couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loren Vinegra in the 16th minute of play forced Bachaquero FC's goalkeeper Melchor Espiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lazaro Tato hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After having played for 25 minutes, Loren Vinegra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esdovasito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Loren Vinegra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Tiburcio Candina's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Melchor Espiga was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Melchor Espiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Candina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bachaquero FC's goalkeeper Melchor Espiga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, Tiburcio Candina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Melchor Espiga. Bachaquero FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tiburcio Candina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Matias Bartoli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bachaquero FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Matias Bartoli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vela Frenes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Esdovasito were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Tiburcio Candina made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Bachaquero FC's Lugo Encinas got a free kick in the 55th minute. After having played for 56 minutes, Raul Valmayor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esdovasito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raul Valmayor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Tiburcio Candina took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Melchor Espiga to make any attempt to save it. Melchor Espiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiburcio Candina in the 69th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiburcio Candina in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Melchor Espiga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bachaquero FC's Melchor Espiga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Bachaquero FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 90th minute by Tiburcio Candina got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Esdovasito's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
