After some careless play in the Yaguita FC defense, Damian Castillejo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vitin Gandarillas. The Yaguita FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vitin Gandarillas should have stopped the shot. In the 17th minute, Lluques Santianes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romeo Inestrosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vitin Gandarillas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Mariri FC's Dalmacio Zubizarrieta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lesardo Anaya in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Olando Sariego hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Mariri FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Yaguita FC:s goal. The supporters of Mariri FC booed when Yaguita FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salamon Hurdinosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Romeo Inestrosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lluques Santianes hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Damian Castillejo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vitin Gandarillas was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. A collision led to Mariri FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Serafino Perlines hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lesardo Anaya stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Yaguita FC's goal looked a bit too open when Romeo Inestrosa came free, but Vitin Gandarillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Damian Castillejo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mariri FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Damian Castillejo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vitin Gandarillas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
