Lorenzo Boldu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oswaldo Tobalina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Oswaldo Tobalina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, Ongile Potes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chucho Alborja. Charallave FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ongile Potes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Ongile Potes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chucho Alborja having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Justo Arnero took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 75th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Chucho Alborja. Charallave FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Ongile Potes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chucho Alborja.
